Your assignment is to interview an engineer. This can be a faculty member at the University or an
engineer working in industry. If you think you will want to get an industry job upon graduation, you may
want to choose to interview an engineer working in industry. If you are having trouble locating an
engineer to interview, please contact your departmental secretary or department chair, they should be
able to help you identify an engineer at a local company. During the interview, feel free to ask questions
relating to any aspect of engineering you are interested in. If you are having trouble thinking of
questions to ask, a few example questions are given below.
Example questions
What is a typical work week or work day like for you? What tasks do you routinely do?
What aspect of your work is the most interesting? The most challenging?
Where did you go to school and what degree(s) did you receive? What was the most exciting
aspect of pursuing an engineering degree? What was the most difficult aspect?
What is the most important skill to learn while I am pursuing my engineering degree?

Hi Will,
I have been a people manager for several years in the company I am working for and went through several interviews with different people. Indeed they were not for industry jobs, but I can leverage a discussion with one of my engineer colleagues for your paper. I can guarantee you a 250 words paper (without the questions) in 2 days. If you are looking for more than that and a more complex discussion and understanding about engineering to be reflected in the paper - it will take around 4-5 days.
In such a short time-frame I can guarantee a discussion with a plumbing engineer. If you are looking for a specific industry - that will take up to 4-5 days to complete - depending on the domain.
Looking forward to help you out,
