Contest Brief

We are looking for a proof of concept design, that involves incorporating 2 different images, where one becomes visible only in the dark (e.g. using "glow-in-the-dark" vinyl material).

The image will be used to produce T-shirts and decorate similar other fabrics with heat applied vinyl materials.

Let's call those "Day" and "Night" images.

The "Day" image may contain simply a white colour or a maximum of up to three colours but no gradients, as the final image will require layering to be produced.

The "Night" image must be drawn in white colour only, and will iluminate either blue or green or a combination of both if you like.

The final artwork (once awarded) should be supplied as multiple colour separated PNG files (and vector files if applicable) on a transparent background.

Please refer to the attached sample images for clarification. Those are concept ideas only - please choose your own design as you wish.

This may be a "Day" images, like a barn in the woods with sunny flower fields, while the illuminating "Night" image transforms the scene into the outline of the barn with spooky animal eyes glowing in the dark woods.

You may also use letters or sentences that transform into a different word/meaning.

You may incorporate the dark image to be, e.g. read in a mirror only.

We are looking for quirky, different, unique, clever designs with or without any typographical message. Typographical designs should play with words or meanings of a sentence rather than just displaying two different images.

Once decided, this concept will require the design of six more additional images within the next 6-8 weeks that will be posted and we'd be happy to contact the designer awarded this project, to work with us again.

As I see nobody has followed the description of illustration for this contest except me. I'm confused :D I could have done an idea of my own if I was told so. Anyways, congratulations for the winner and I think his design is great by the way.

Thanks for submitting your images! Some of those are really interesting concepts. I noticed that some though are simply negative images of the original one, which doesn't quite work when producing the item. Basically the "Night" image requires one (white) colour only, and when placed on top of the "Day" image should become part of that image (White colour on white background is is fine). I hope I explained this okay - please feel free to message and I'll try to clarify further. Also I haven't replied to any of your messages yet as I was away for a few days, but I will do that today. Thank again for the already submitted entries!
