Logo design for Perflo (fintech app)
We're building an app called Perflo. It lets people set spending rules for automated payments, so money can move on its own without anyone losing control of it. Two ideas sit at the center of it: money that moves, and money that's protected while it moves. If a logo can hold both of those at once, that's the whole job.
We need a logo, an app icon, and a small set of variants.
What we're after
We're not telling you what to draw. We want to see your thinking. Some of the words we keep coming back to internally: flow, agent, permission, access, boundaries, limits, control, trust, automatic. A keyhole, a channel, a gate, a valve, a card, a meter, something abstract we haven't thought of. Your call.
The name is perflo, lowercase. It reads as "per flow," which we like.
What we know for sure
The mark has to work at 16 pixels, because that's where most people will see it: browser tabs, app icons, small listings. It has to work in one flat color. It should be geometric and precise rather than decorative or hand-drawn.
We want it to feel warm. Most finance and AI brands go cold and dark. We'd rather not.
Colors
Terracotta #c47052 is the primary and should lead.
Deep copper #9E5238 for depth and shadow.
Cream #F5E6C8.
Gold #D4A853.
Near-black #14110E for dark surfaces.
Warm off-white #FAF6F0 for light surfaces.
Propose one more tone if your concept genuinely needs it. No cold blues, no purples, no neon.
Type
Our product font is Hanken Grotesk, weights 400 to 800. You can draw a custom wordmark, but it has to sit comfortably next to Hanken Grotesk in the app. Please don't hand us untouched default type.
Reference points
Stripe, Mercury, Linear for restraint and precision. Warm instead of cold, though.
Please avoid: AI sparkles, four point stars, asterisks, glowing orbs, neural network diagrams, circuit boards, gradients doing the heavy lifting, neon, 3D bevels, drop shadows, padlocks, shields, anything that reads as crypto or trading.
Deliverables
Primary logo, standalone icon for app and favicon, horizontal and stacked lockups, icon on its own. Color versions: full color, one color, all black, all white, and reversed on dark.
Files: source vectors (Illustrator, Figma or SVG), plus SVG, PDF and PNG exports at 1x, 2x, 3x. App icon at 1024x1024. Favicons at 16, 32 and 180px. A one page usage sheet covering clear space, minimum size, and do's and don'ts.
Full commercial rights transfer on final payment.
How this runs
We shortlist on portfolio, then ask the designer we pick for two or three different concept directions before we choose one and refine it. No templates and no AI generated marks, we'll spot them.
In your proposal
Send portfolio links. Fintech, AI or developer tools are a plus but not required.
Then answer this in a sentence or two: how would you draw something that moves on its own but is also locked down? That's the actual problem. We'll read your answer to that before anything else.
Include your fixed price, timeline, and how many revision rounds you're including.
