Contest Brief

Dear freelancers,

we need a logo for an online fishing encyclopedia for German market we are recently working on. The name of the brand will be "Fischerlexikon".

Key facts:
It will be a website giving all kinds of information for new and advanced fishermen, provided content will be:
- index of local fishes
- equipment and tackle suggestions (rods, hooks, leaders, boats,...)
- bait and bait recipes
- seasonal tips and tricks

Please note that it will be about freshwater fish, so a Marlin or shark will not fit in our brand.

The logo should be clean and easy to remember:
- the logo / symbol should fit the brand name's elements "fish" and "encyclopedia". It would be great to have those elements somehow combined - fish and/or a hook with a book or something. PLEASE FOCUS ON A HOOK AS WELL!
Maybe you have great ideas of merging those elements. Otherwise a strong, clean fishing only logo could work as well.
- the CI is not finished yet, so any color suggestions are welcome (1 or 2 colors preferred, must also look good as watermark and single color).
- creative and professional logo and the term "Fischerlexikon" beneath or besides it. The symbol should work alone too, without text.
- please no text-in-logo combinations.
- I am not giving any suggestions as you are not restricted in your creativity. Yet it should be a simple, clean and modern shaped vector look, old fashioned cliparts will be rejected.

The files are needed as vector graphics EPS and AI.
Please only use free fonts.
