Contest Brief

Need to design a banner for our 5K. The banner will also be used for a highway billboard. This is a landscape/horizontal format. I'm attaching:
1. a sketch of my idea.
2. our logo
3. photo of boy running through a finish line color throw. (you can use this one unless you find a better one. must be yellow color)

In the design, the yellow brick road leads to our logo (tree with yellow ribbon). We will have a yellow finish line color throw and need that represented. This will be a large banner/billboard that cars will be quickly passing so it needs to be simple but impactful so they get the message quickly (i.e. large images, large words).

submissions should be in JPG or PDF format. Winning files should be in JPG and EPS format.

  It's not always an easy task to isolate a figure in a photo. Hints: use the highest resolution, stand on a stool (~2 ft.), shoot in a parking lot or on a cut lawn, try to have your runner's full figure take up most of the view finder area, [ O ] not [ . ], keep the sun to your back or directly above, have runners move left or right. Have fun.

Greetings! 3 questions please: 1. What is the size of the banner? 2. The photo of a boy running is very low quality, thus when printing a large billboard, it will be very pixelated. 3. Do you have the copyrights to use that photo of a boy running. And yeah, we can`t just take a photo from Google and use it in a design which is going to be publicly displayed on a street: there`s always a copyright issue. My regards!

  Thanks for the clarification. A digital billboard gives contestants a lot of design freedom. Is the 3ft. x 40ft. banner digital as well? Seems like a size that would span a 2 lane street.
