Contest Brief

We are about to publish a book on process improvement in hotels and other hospitality activities. We have some ideas of what we would like to see, but need some creative input to make a final decision.

The cover needs to convey the idea suggested by the title of the book "Upgrade to hospitality excellence". One of the ideas we had was to use the image of a "do not disturb" door hanger, and put the title of the book inside it. The word Upgrade should be bigger than the rest of the title.

On the cover, we also want to provide other text that will better explain the contents of the book. This is a novel that provides practical advice on how to bring improvement to an organization, and we wanted to make that clear from the cover, but we thought we should put that information inside the highlight circle you will see in the drafts.

The wording (title, circle text, etc) has already been thought through quite a lot, but we are open to adjusting it. We are more concerned about the overall design and concept of the cover. We have chosen the hanger because it is such an iconic image that is representative of a hotel, but we are open to other options, so long as they also clearly represent the hospitality industry.

On the back cover, we would like to move the promotional blurb, highlighted text, and testimonial photo (in the documents, you can see the part of the text that we want to highlight) and use the rest of the available space for:
- a large, high quality photo of someone serving a guest, for example a waiter serving a mojito.
- barcode
- a sentence explaining what is lean (provided in the attached documents)
- a logo
- a copyright disclaimer

FILE1.pdf contains what we think is the closest to our final decision (in draft), and the text you will need for your concept.

FILE2.pdf contains other concepts that we have received and talked about that we also like.
