Contest Brief
This contest is for a book cover for a story called "Silicon Angel"
The story is about a computerize companion that is trying to comfort his dying friend up to and including the moment of death.
Final image should be at LEAST 2,560 pixels in height x 1,600 pixels in width but may be larger.
Height to Width ratio should be1.6:1 (For every 1,000 pixels in width, the image should be 1,600 pixels in height.)
The book cover must include the title of the book "Silicon Angel" and author: by Nicholas Chionilos
All fonts must be very clear, clean, and easy to read.
The image of the book cover will be of an angel (that looks clearly technological in some way) holding the body and cradling the head the man who died in a hospital.
The book cover must convey a "WOW!" factor. Looking at the cover must convey a sense of wonder, fascination, curiosity and sadness from the viewer.
Angel:
Male
Beautiful, gentle features
Looking down at the body in his hands
Loving, compassionate expression
Slight, sad smile (He's sad that his friend died, happy about the way he went)
Maybe a wing half covering the man like a blanket?
Angel most somehow evoke the idea of technology:
- Perhaps something like Circuit paths, printed circuit board design somewhere on angel?

Colors like Dark green, light green, gold suggest circuit boards to me.
Blues convey idea of energy/electricity.
Silver and gold convey ideas of metal/machine
Here is one possible example of how technology might be integrated into the angel, here "Vision",from avengers.

You might also consider a fusion of a metallic robotic angel with a very human face, with some sort of aura or
energy surrounding it. Little electrical discharges would not be out of place if done tastefully.
You might consider making parts of the robot/angel more out of energy/less physically substantial. Just a thought - Not required.
Face/body needs to somehow invoke the idea of machine/computer but have a lot of emotion.
Angel MUST convey a fascinating hybrid of electronic/technology + ethereal/divine/beauty. It should be mesmerizing to look at.
The dead man:
- Old Man
- Handsome
- Thin body (once powerful, now very thin because of disease)
- Peaceful expression on dead face, like sleeping but having a happy dream.
- Grey Beard
- Longish, unkept grey hair (or use best judgement for what will look good)
Here is a rough idea of the pose (but I want the visual focus to be the angel, not the dead body)

Other possible idea for angel:
Instead of making a completely, cybernetic angel/robot hybrid maybe consider making the angel look like it is in the process of materializing, so things farther away from the focus like the wings might look partly immaterial or made of energy/technology but things become more substantial/solid the closer you get to the body. The immaterial parts could be more glowing/ethereal, the transitional parts could have a tech feel , (perhaps some sort of circuit board feel), and the solid parts where you need expression would just be pure human.
Layered Photoshop file preferred.
