Contest Brief

Hello, if you're reading this then I hope you're having a great day!

I'm looking for an illustration of a character to be used as the profile picture for my Youtube channel. The channel will be PC gaming content if that helps.

What I am looking for is fairly open ended, but I want a character who can be a 'mascot' for the channel. The character can be a human, animal or made up creature, the only requirement is that they have a gas mask. The type of gas mask and all other aspects of the character are completely up to you!

However I know it's very easy to make dark/creepy images when gas masks are involved, and whilst I enjoy those as much as the next person, for this project I am looking for something more cartoony, colourful and lighthearted - think the pyro from TF2 (and see images attached below).

I'm interested in what artistic styles people will use for this character, and since I have none particularly in mind please use whatever style you think is best for this project.

That said there are a few things I will not be accepting:
1. Anime/manga style drawings - I just don't want that style for my channel
2. Sexualised images - inappropriate

The final image should be a high resolution digital file in a .png format. There may be future work for the winner down the road.

    Thank you for all entries so far! Just a few points which have arisen from them so far:


    I'm not looking for anything military, the opposite almost, very casual or maybe fantasy. Think someone in a dressing gown with a cup tea but a gas mask on, very casual.

    Secondly if the character is a person then I would like them to be male or genderless (although still interested to see what animal/custom creatures people come up with)
