<Technology Description>
This technology relates to technology that automatically stops the engine (or suppresses engine power) of a hybrid vehicle in a low emission zone (e.g., LEZ (Low Emission Zone)) in a large city based on location information.

In order to automatically stop the engine or suppress engine power in low emission zones, it is necessary to detect when the vehicle has entered a low emission zone using GPS or other means. However, there are cases where a vehicle's position cannot be detected accurately due to, for example, a failure of GPS equipment or inability to receive radio waves from GPS satellites, and thus the vehicle's entry into a low emission zone cannot be detected, resulting in exhaust gas emissions in the low emission zone.

To solve this problem, this technology automatically stops the engine or suppress the engine output when the reliability of the detected vehicle location information is low. As a result, even if the vehicle has entered a low emission zone without being detected, exhaust gas emissions in the low emission zone can be suppressed.
