<Technology Description>
This technology is related to the charging of electric vehicles (EV) and is particularly expected to be effective in deterring EV theft.
If an EV is stolen and the battery can be charged at any charging facility, it will be driven away.
To solve these issues, this technology registers whether each vehicle can be charged or not on the server that manages charging. When an EV is connected to charging equipment for charging, if the connected EV is registered as "chargeable" on the server, it will be charged.
Specifically, users register their EVs on the server in advance so that they can charge them only in the specific region where they will be using the EV. By doing so, even if an EV is stolen, the areas where it can be charged will be limited, thereby restricting the area in which the EV can move and making it easier to track it. In another example, a user who notices the theft registers the stolen EV as "unchargeable" on the server. By doing so, you will not be able to charge your stolen EV.
If such technology becomes widespread, it is expected that EV theft will be deterred. Please take a moment to investigate this technology.
