CONTEST EXTENDED 3 MORE DAYS--(til Sat July 27 PT)
Sorry, but early feedback I've received from others on your entries is that although they are very good,
the weight loss theme needs to be suggested in the mascot. Possible approaches would be:
weight loss coach/advisor/cheerleader, nutrition advocate, diet analyst, binge-buster, health consultant,
diet doctor. Possible objects to include: eating utensils, weight scales, measuring tape, etc.. Use your imagination.
So for those who have already submitted, please consider submitting a revised version to suggest a
weight loss theme. Or submit entirely new mascots. The weight loss theme doesn't need to be obvious--
you can be subtle about it. IMPORTANT: the mascot is still a quirky, virtual being so that aspect needs to stay.
Thx
*****************************************************************************************************
Hi. I need a MASCOT for a website that is harmonious with the site's title/logo (attached). The mascot is a cute, friendly, quirky VIRTUAL being with artificial intelligence who gives weight loss advice to visitors. At this point, I am most interested in finding a great CONCEPT for the mascot rather than getting a polished final product. If you would like to submit rough sketches that illustrate your concepts, that's very much encouraged. Contest is open to "idea persons" as well as actual artists/designers. Revision and polish of the winning mascot concept can come after the contest ends (with additional payment as needed).
The mascot needs to have the following qualities (ranked in order of importance):
1) Friendly and quirky
2) Mascot must have an Artificial Intelligence theme but it cannot be just a boxy robot. (Think 'virtual', 'electrons',/'ethereal intelligence' rather than 'hardware'). The mascot "writes" the site's blog and gives advice to site visitors so it should be more humanoid than animal in form.
3) Not an absolute requirement, but if at all possible, please try to use elements from the logo (especially the blue eyes with tilted red letter 'S' -- see logo eyes attachment) in the design of the mascot. The tilted 'S' eyes are intended to signify the eyes of the mascot either directly or indirectly. (I am open to you revising/tweaking the logo to conform with the mascot if the mascot concept is good.)
4) Mascot will typically appear on the site with a white background in a size about 1 inch square,so a clean and simple design will probably work best.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!
I won't automatically be commenting on each individual entry--but if you ask me (either publicly or privately) I will respond with feedback.

Thank you everyone. Sorry for the delay but it has been hard to decide because there were many good works to choose from. I sincerely appreciate all of you that responded to my suggestions with revised versions and going the extra mile for me.
And the winner I have chosen is... #95 by creativodezigns! I think this simple but clever design offers the most flexibility to adapt to my site's evolving needs.
I wish all of you the best of luck.

FYI, some of the feedback I'm getting from first time viewers is that they don't understand the bathroom weight scale images--they think it's just some sort of techno-dial or something. So I'm not sure now that that will work. Maybe we will need to put the focus more on a slim healthy physique and/o other weight loss themes.

(FYI: the measuring tape idea isn't coming through either--especially in smaller images.)

Another option (which I prefer over the bathroom scale theme mentioned below) is to simply give your mascot an especially trim and healthy-looking physique. But I'm still open to any other ideas you may have to convey the weight loss theme.

Not much time left. If you're looking for a quick way to update your older design, I think I like the idea of using the face of a bathroom scale as the weight loss reference best. So just slap an image of this on your mascot's chest and that might be all you need. Be sure it is big and clear enough to see in a small image. Here are some examples of scales if you need them: https://www.google.com/search?q=weight+scale+analogue&rlz=1C1GGGE_en___US446&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=jmXyUbyfE5SI9QTZ2oDoAw&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1527&bih=875#rlz=1C1GGGE_en___US446&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=analog+bathroom+scale&oq=analog+bathroom+scale&gs_l=img.3..0j0i24l2.11679.12208.2.12724.2.2.0.0.0.0.157.272.0j2.2.0....0.0..1c.1.20.img.o856c68sie0&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&bvm=bv.49784469%2Cd.eWU%2Cpv.xjs.s.en_US.MpiVkF51mpA.O&fp=9824c78d04fbfc41&biw=1527&bih=875

To make current ratings clearer, I have subtracted a star and removed my likes for earlier submissions that lack any weight loss element. Remember on your revised and new submission that the mascot will usually be small in size so any weight loss item you might add to your mascot needs to be large and clear enough to see in small scale. Thx.

As mentioned above, the contest has been re-opened because our initial feeback is telling us that at least some minor weight loss element MUST be included in the mascot's design. Sorry for my earlier misdirection. Thx!

More great entries, thx! The only two things I can add at this point are 1) it might help to include multiple facial expressions--The audience will be mostly adult women so anything you can do to give your mascot a more adult, witty persona would be a nice touch. Also don't be afraid to something a little unusual--for example, the mascot might wear a bolo tie or a monocle or something that makes it unique. Thanks again, everyone. Good luck.

Special Note: I like the radiant/glowing effect on #74 . It gives the mascot a bit more of a "virtual" look. My site will not have a dark background though, so if you can think of a way to use a radiant effect on a white background, that would be great. Thx.

Thx again for your latest entries. Just want to note that I like what I've seen, but so far no one has submitted any non-robotic/abstract/virtual designs. I sure would like to see some of these if you can think of anything along these lines. You can go as abstract as you like, as long as the design contains something resembling two eyes and is somewhat friendly looking.
And remember, a simple style containing some aspects of the logo color/style is preferred. Thx!- 10 years ago

Today's Summary: I continue to be very impressed by your efforts and appreciate your work. Just want to leave you with two comments for today.
1) On my site, my artificially intelligent mascot gives weight loss advice to visitors, mostly women. So if you want to include some kind of weight loss theme in your work, that's fine..but it's only optional.
2) The title/logo has two sets of eyes, one of which represents the Mascot and the other the site visitor. So the logo somehow needs to have some connection with one of these sets of eyes (the tilted S eyes are probably best suited for the mascot). But if you want to take an entirely different approach, that's okay, but I'll need to know what you propose to do with the logo to make it compatible with your mascot.
Thx again. Keep up the good work. And I'll talk to you more tomorrow.
