PROJECT CONTEXT
We are currently implementing an testing our newly in house design farm management application, which will help our business improve tradability from seed to plate and assist in helping our business start to manage our farming business through more sophisticated statistic management methods.
We have tested NFC tags to create an ID point at which an activity occur i.e. planting, spraying, growing review or Harvest etc. These tags are critical to our operations as they are the start and end point to the growing process.
For the first version of the growing tags we would like to implement them into our expanding Micro Cress product range, I have inclosed a number of generic plant tags that I have printed off. The images should give you the concept and application of the tags.
DESIGN REQUIRED
We require an innovative planting tag to be design that we will be able to place into the pot that would show the operator the following;
1) Variety of crop
NOTES : we have over 40 varieties with the shortest name being 'Dill' and the longest being 'Red Vein Sorrell'. In your designs please consider the character minimum and maximum lengths. The project we will asking the designer to only create one designs that will allow for the lengths, once we are happy with the designs we would ask the designer to design a modified tag for all individual variety, which would be an additional project.
2) Access to the 30mm wide NFC tag
NOTES: We are using an NFC tag that is 30mm in diameter, there needs to be a clearly defined circle on the Plant tag that is indented by 2-3mm. This is where we will apply the highly durable tag.
For more information about the tag please see the link bellow;
https://www.buynfctags.com/gototags-nfc-bubble-sticker-ntag203-circle-30-mm.html
3) Brand of the Product
NOTES: The brand of the produce that we are creating id Flowerdale farm, I have upload the logo bellow file name starts with 1237508803172 or please visit : http://www.flowerdalefarm.com.au. The logo or aspects of the logo should be included in the tag to make it clear that this product is the Flowerdale product.
4) Minimum and Max height indicators
NOTES: We need to create a visual ID whether this product is above the minimum and under the maximum. The way we thought to manage this is to design a rulers with centimetres and Millimetres and we will instruct you to print a different colour at 25mm and another at 45mm. This will create the different Height indication levels.
TECHNICAL INFO
POT - The pot that we are currently using is 67mm high and we need a stable prod to stock in with a small surface plate to define where the dirt / growing medium starts. It is only from the dirt level that we measure the height indication.
NOTE: Pot is 90mm wide at the top, tag should not take up to much space at there will be product growing in the pot that the product tag is in, it might be clever to match the curve of the pot. Images of pots have been uploaded.
HEIGHT INDICATION - Height indication should begin at the pot surface area and run from 0 to 100mm and indicate with another colour the minimum and maximim. (Note we have a two heads on our 3D Printer so this will be possible). Just like a standard metic ruler every 10mm should be indented and numbered.
PRINTER : We currently have a replicator 2X and are printing on ABS not PLA for technical specification of this printer please go to: http://store.makerbot.com/replicator2x.
We are looking at a simple design as we need to print volumes of the tags however looking for s
