Contest Brief

I need a logo for a gun store - Patriots Guns. The logo will be used for advertising as well as embroidered logos on shirts, store signage and so on.

We sell tactical-type firearms, as well as hunting firearms.

I want to avoid anything overly cliché in the logo.
- no guns
- no crosshairs
- no flags
- do not want red-white-blue (US flag colors) themed logo

Don't go overboard with the "patriot" aspect of the design. For example, you do not need to include a US flag or a soldier, etc. in the logo.

It is ok to use Christian imagery - a cross, a sword, etc - but in a subtle way. I don't want a giant cross, but if a small cross were incorporated that would be ok.

I'm envisioning some sort of shield design, perhaps incorporating a single star, but don't let that limit your creativity. I will consider outdoor/hunting themed designs as well.

2 colors only, please.

Optional subtext on the logo could be something like
- Firearms and Accessories
- Firearms and Ammunition

Bold, clean, simple design. I love simple designs. I look to the corporate giants for inspiration in logo design.
