Contest Brief

We are looking for a logo design to represent a company offering management and consulting to high-end technology companies. The logo must be both modern and young, yet carry the gravity of a parent company.

In future, there will be multiple child companies - all of whom will require a logo with a matching style so that the line of logos will appear cohesive and well planned. Child companies may not need to be so formal - but the style of the family logo needs to be adaptable to meet any demand. If you can also include one or two "suggestion" company logos (you pick the company!) to demonstrate the versatility of your design it might help us to envision what the full family might look like later on.

We strongly lean toward simplicity; the less adornment, the better. Logos we admire are: Disney, Coca-Cola, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle. If adornment can be added, it must be very simple and we admire these logos with adornment: Audi, UBS, HSBC, Cisco.

For the CEO, imagine his business card being almost blank with just this logo in the middle 30% of the card. His name and title in smaller type. Our logo must make this business card speak.

Legal: Contest winner will be required to provide a signed contract assigning all copyright rights, in perpetuity, to myself . If you do not have a form already for this (which you likely SHOULD have) then you can find templates available on the internet.

Update: As pointed out by several of the artists, I guess you'll need the actual company NAME(!). The company is called Xeata. Because we are a bilingual company, the logo may (or may not as you prefer) include the full company name which is: Gestion Xeata Management Inc. I suspect you will find it easier to stick to simply "Xeata" or "Xeata Inc.".

(For the non anglo/franco: in French the word Gestion comes before the company name while in English the word Management would come after. So generally in a logo you would see them in this order: Gestion Xeata Management Inc. A French-only logo would say Gestion Xeata and English only would say Xeata Management.)

@Xoranfrljic8: The design had more that just a wall layout, it had business card, letterhead, different color patterns etc. The winning design was selected by a team of people with different levels of skill in artistic design. She did not just win by fooling us with clever 3D. She created the best logo - in our opinion.

a mock-up design again, typically they're the winning designs for a newcomer CH, once they get used to it they won't choose it again as it's nothing but a misleading view

Would you like the Parent company logo without the company name & then the children logo's with faux names? Or all logos to have faux names?

  For now the priority is on the parent company logo (Xeata). For the children, we're mostly hoping to see that a variety of different MOODS can be expressed depending on the type of child company. This part is primarily a demonstration that the parent logo can be versatile enough to have children in different industries that still feel that they fit with the parent. (did that make as much sense as I hoped it would?)
