Contest Brief

Freelancers, welcome to the Horus Fashion logo design competition. We are looking for creative designers to make us 2 logos that are simple, powerful, professional and stylish. One logo will be the full name horus written out (and other logo elements), and the other will be a simpler version with either just the emblem or just the H. We want there to be consistency between the 2 but be creative too. We value that the company has the appearance of being a high class as it will be high quality products, but don’t forget to make it stylish! Here are some details:

Company name: Horus
Type of clothing: Stylish, casual wear, classy
Audience: 20-35 years old

You can experiment with a slightly vintage look too. Either way we will review and give feedback to everyone, and provide comments on the discussion board allowing you to improve and try new submissions. The contest will be public so you will be able to see each others submissions, this is intentional. We want you to go your own way and possibly be inspired by each other, however if we see that there is direct copying or plagiarism we will remove you from the contest. Be Authentic, be creative!

We’ve attached a document with some pictures to inspire you for the logo, DO NOT COPY ANY OF THEM DIRECTLY. They are for inspiration purposes only, we want 100% original work.
At the end of the competition the winner will be required to provide the AI File, scalable file format, high quality JPG and PNG. Make sure you design it in Illustrator.

Before submitting make sure:

Your work is original
You are submitting 2 logos on the same submission. The full one and shortened one
The image is high quality

If you win this competition you will have the opportunity to work with us on many other occasions. Best of luck!

Hi Guys, the contest is ending in 1 hour. We will review all the submissions. It is important to mention that we have not been completely satisfied with your entries, however mainly because we were not sure exactly what we wanted. Over the next few days we will review what we want, probably change the company name and make sure there is a clear project requirement and a new description you can work with. We understand that a lot of you have put a lot of hours of work into these submissions and apologise for taking a turn in a different direction, however, to recompense you we will be increasing the reward of the competition.

You need two high class logos for high quality products and the budget is.....$50? It's like walking into the Prada store and say "I want your best jacket, but I will pay $20 for it".
    Good luck.

A Prada jacket is expensive because of the knowledge used to make it, the quality of the raw materials and because it is a luxury brand. Making a logo for a luxury or non luxury brand doesn't change the amount of work or skills needed, there is no "raw materials" used to make it, at the end only creativity matters and makes the difference. So I don't think that your comment is relevant. Plus the budget put in the making of the logo has nothing to do with the quality of the brand. We are a start up and have low budget, this is why we use freelancer. Furthermore, no one forces you to participate if the prize doesn't attract you.

Yes as Quentinquar has said no more references to the Egyptian god. Aim for the classy high class and vintage effect.

Dear freelancers, as we said in the description Horus is the name of an Egyptian god. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO INCLUDE ANY REFERENCE TO THIS IN THE LOGO, but if you think it fits all the other requirements of being classy and proper then you can always try and we will see what we think. Please keep in mind that we are not looking for an Egyptian looking logo, the name "Horus" is just a reference and the logo should NOT have Egyptian connotation, so please do not create a logo based based on Egyptian connotation.
