Contest Brief

Concept:
Geloi is an area of environmental protection in the Piana di Gela (Gela plains) in Sicily, right in the middle of a migration route for birds that migrate back to Europe from Africa. The name "Geloi" referes to the ancient name of the area, often referred to as the granary of Rome in ancient times. The aim of the project is to restore the habitat and recreate the environmental conditions the area had before it started being used for intensive agriculture.

Habitat:
The reserve protects 1) the Mediterranean steppic areas by implementing organic agriculture systems and 2) wetlands, especially temporary marshes that appear during the wet season and represent an important area in which the birds can stop and feed along their route.
Please find the example photos for these areas attached.

What do we need:
1) The name "Geloi" has to appear in the logo.
2) The European roller (Coracias garrulus) has to appear in the logo, preferably flying.

It can be stylized or in whichever look you prefer as long as it's recognisable.
3) The logo has to graphically make reference to wetlands or water in any case.
Please take notice that rollers (which represents the steppic habitat from before) DON'T live in wetlands so don't link the bird to the water, just the name of the place.

    Thank you for your submissions so far but none is quite what we were envisioning.

    As a reminder:
    - The logo must contain the word "Geloi"
    - The logo has to make reference to water somehow (be wild and creative, we like that!)
    - The European roller bird has to appear in the logo (it can be stilyzed or not. Again, be creative!)

      Ciao, il nostro è un progetto naturalistico nella Piana di Gela, Sicilia.
      Si tratta di riportare delle aree agricole intensive al loro stato naturale di acquitrini stagionali, in modo da garantire alle specie di uccelli che migrano dall'Africa verso l'Europa, un sito di pausa dove trovano acqua e cibo.
      Abbiamo necessità di un logo che:
      - Incorpori la parola "Geloi"
      - Faccia riferimento all'acqua (in qualsiasi modo preferisci, sii creativo!)
      - Preferibilmente faccia riferimento all'uccello simbolo del progetto, la Ghiandaia marina (Coracias garrulus).
