Contest Brief

The idea is to create a market place where people can sell their own homemade food products (for example a pie, tomatoes, pumpkins, fish, eggs, herbal tea and so on…basically any food product one can make themselves).

For that I need a mobile first web-design (so it should work on desktop, tablet and mobile phone) that contains at least the following functions (this list is not complete as I’m still writing on the functional design but for this graphical design contest it gives a good idea on functions it will need)
A homepage that shows
o featured sellers (so people who sell products). Think of an image, the name of the seller and the location. We could also use this to show the latest new sellers
o Featured products (sellers can promote their products) or use this for latest new products
o An easy filter/search mechanism to start searching for types of food (think: vegetables, alcoholic drinks, non-alcoholic drinks, pies, fish etc etc
o Some easy links to pages like “how does it work”, “About us” and “Join us”
o Maybe room for the latest feedback (from customers to products/ sellers)
o Maybe room for a blog
o A footer with links to stuff like cookies, contact, faq’s etc

A shop page that contains
o An easy way to browse through products
o An easy way to add/ delete products
o An easy way to see what is in your basket

A basket page that shows
o The products that are in your basket
o Option to add/ delete/ go to check out etc
o Maybe combine the shop and basket page?

A checkout page in different states (select delivery date, select payment, feedback about the payment and the rest of the process)

A seller detail page that shows
o Information about the seller (like joined date, reviews of customers etc)
o Information about the location of the seller
o Information about the products (or the complete list of products the seller sells)
o An option to ask a question

A page to review a product (which is connected to a seller)

A create account page where users and sellers can create an account (different questions will be asked depending on the type of account you create)

A login page where users and sellers can log in to their account. Make sure social login is available

A “my”-page for sellers with several tabs to
o Manage their details
o Manage their products
o Manager their orders / Manage their financial stuff
o Manage the questions users ask
o Manage their reviews

A “my”-page for customers with several tabs to
o Manage their details
o Manage their orders
o Manage their reviews
o Manage your questions (an “inbox”)

The general pages like “About us”, “How does it work”, “FAQ’s”

A blog page (overview + detail)

Some CMS pages for me to handle stuff like users, products, statistics

The style should be:
- Environmental friendly
- Organic
- Home made
- Food
- Clean

There is no logo yet. I will ask a designer to design a logo after all the screens are designed (separate contest)

What is the contest about?
- Design any 2 of the above screens (and at least one of the two for a mobile device) so I can select a winning style/designer.
- The winner will receive the total specs document and will be asked to design a max of 15 screens (in two versions: one for mobile, one for desktop) to receive the contest prize of $500

Another thing I need to clarify looking at the first designs: I'm looking for a vintage / food truck / 60's design. All design so far are the basic red and green webshop templates. I'm really looking for something surprising, refreshing, vintage looking. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the first designs. In general the designs so far a bit to crowded. The homepage should give the option to find your food directly, all other info is less important. Also I'm missing the fact that it's a LOCAL idea. Off course it will be possible to order stuff and have the seller send it to you, but the basic idea is that someone in your neighbourhood has a surpluss of apples in his garden and wants to sell them for a nice price. Buyers and Seller will live max 250m away from eachother. Showing the location of the product (for example by showing a filer next to the products that shows a circle of 250m around your position) will make it better to understand for users

If I rate your design, the stars mean:
1 stars means: don't like it at all.
2 stars means: it's ok, gives me and idea but I'm not impressed
3 stars means: we are getting there but It's not perfect and needs improving
