Contest Brief

Chimera Therapeutics is a biotech company that has developed an immune stem cell treatment for blood and autoimmune disorders in humans. The core technology establishes the simultaneous presence of both patient and donor stem cells (known as mixed chimerism).

Aspects of our company that we want reflected in the logo:

• Mixed chimerism - this can be conveyed through the presence of two bone marrow stem cells (see links below for examples), one designated as patient and the other as donor or conveyed by a chimeric organism (part one animal and part another like a minotaur or the sphinx).

• Biotherapeutic treatment that cures, not just treats the disease symptoms

• Uses native or natural cell populations, and does not use synthetic or artificial manipulation of cell (genomic) DNA. Our treatment is not gene therapy or genome engineering (CRISPR)

• Unique technology – no other company has a mixed chimerism cure for these disorders

Ideally the main logo should look good and be legible both as a large and a small icon (as large as 1200 x 1200 pixels, and as small as 35x35 Pixels.)

For this reason, it must not contain a lot of text within the logo itself, which will be hard to see as a small icon. We prefer placing the Chimera Therapeutics text below or beside the logo rather than within it.

We want source file) formats (i.e., .eps, .jpg, .png, .ai, .svg).

The main logo must look good and be legible both as a large and a small emoticon. Please avoid small elements in the logo as they might not be visible when the logo is as small as 35 x 35 pixels or as an emoticon. There cannot be text within the logo itself, which will be hard to see as a small icon or emoticon. We prefer placing the Chimera Therapeutics text below or beside the logo rather than within it.

If you look at the ratings, there were several designs that received 2 stars. These designs incorporated more of the criteria that I listed, so I encourage all designers to review the above comments and these 2 star designs prior to revising submitted designs or submitting new designs.

• Uses native or natural cell populations, and does not use synthetic or artificial manipulation of cell (genomic) DNA, so NO DNA helix in the logo
o Our treatment is not gene therapy or genome engineering (CRISPR), so NO DNA helix in the logo

I want to thank all of the artists and designers who submitted logo concepts, but I was not able to select a winner since no concept met the key criteria that I originally listed. I plan to extend the contest and request that everyone please read the comments that I added to the original specifications below.

The company logo needs to convey mixed chimerism with the primary colors of sky blue and red, using white, gray, or black as secondary accent colors, so NO green, blue, orange, purple, just the primary colors of sky blue and red, using white, gray, or black as secondary accent colors.
