Contest Brief

Hi Developers,

As you may have experienced, phones now a day are as beautiful as breakable. Me and a compagnon of mine have started an initiative where we can:

- provide people with a platform that contains information of nearby trustworthy phone repair shops, with estimated repair prices, additional terms and conditions and realtime reviews.

- provides (local) repair shop entrepreneurs with an extension of their marketing and website through, an online profile page with a realtime agenda where people can make an appointment and give a headsup about the phone(model) and estimated damage. The phone repair shops will also be reviewed on 3 different subjects which determine the order of search results.

We’re looking for a design and color that gives users the feeling they get an realtime honest description about the estimated all in customer journey while letting there phone repaired. Therefore it needs to give the feeling that their not only doing themselves a favor, but that they also contribute to a sustainable future.

We’de like to see a design based on the attached drawing and as much of the points you’ll read below:


- A one pager with header and footer (Taken into account that we may want to add another (main) function on the homepage, hence leaving the option to do so)

- Name and Logo are not ready to announce yet, so this space can be filled with dummy material.

- Besides the search function it would be good to get a design wich shows the newest repair shops below a search function and above the footer.


For the winner we have another $100 if he/she provides us with designs of the other pages in the same style.

    Other considerations:

    1) We do think that an "about us" section is more appropriate for a separate page that can be reached via the header/footer.

    2) Most of the designs that we have seen have white backgrounds whereas some played with colours.
    Both are nice but we challenge you to think about whether or not (background) colour can be a benefit to your design.

    3) The design that gives the website a touch/feeling of sustainability gets bonus points. After all repairing your phone is better for the environment than buying a new one.

    Good morning developers,

    At the moment we are giving feedback to individual designs. However we will mention here what we like in general from the designs we have seen so far. In a next message we will give our other considerations.

    What we like:
    1)We like the clear seach functions that we have seen so far
    2)We like the designs in which you can see newest/nearby shops including their ratings and basic information
    3)We like to see testimonials on the site
    4)We like the "explore" functions that allow users to select their brand of phone, model and type or fixing to directly see an overview of price ranges and available shops.
    5)We like the section in which advantages of our site are listed for the visitor.

    Please be advised that our draft is soley meant to indicate that the homepage should be about the clear searchfunction.
    In the design we are looking for header/footer and display of latest/newest repair shops.
