Contest Brief

The company name is "Gilded Gate Properties" and is based out of Charleston, SC. I would like the logo to be a 2 door iron gate, left door slightly open, with brick columns on either side. Simple, elegant ironwork, with an encircled palmetto tree centered between the 2 doors (made into the door, not a real palmetto tree). Marsh grass sprouting beside both brick columns. Or azalea bushes... I have attached some pictures to give you an idea. Gilded, sleek, elegant. Whole logo black/turquoise/gold. If you can incorporate the word "Properties" underneath somehow, or maybe as the bottom of the gate...I'm not sure, but what I envision is the gate logo standing in place for the words "Gilded Gate" and then the word "Properties" running beneath it all same height/equidistant spacing/ looks as though it is part of the scene. You can play around, don't necessarily have to follow the idea as i myself am not a designer. The important aspects are the palmetto tree as part of the ironwork, the gate being iron and gilded, and the overall presentation being bold, stylish, and elegant. Thank you in advance!

    Elise, you are obviously not the owner of this property. Consider that your client, who uses the word "gilded" and specified brick columns, azaleas, and icons from the SC state flag, might want an original "gilded age" look. The clipart and "spaceship" art you star may be hard to to reproduce in real life, and quite misleading too.

    I've been doing this for 35 years, so nothing much surprises me. But this WAS a surprise ... To be rejected without comment when my entries were the only ones done from scratch to do what you said you wanted. You gave definite expectations in your brief that were the opposite of what you apparently want: Slightly altered clipart. So much for 18 hours' work. It's the NO COMMENT that's maddening. You've given no five stars ... Do you think you'll get a 5-star from your clipart-trawlers?

      Hey, I understand that a CH may not be familiar with the crappy clipart that's entered in every contest by non-designers. I was hoping the CH would recognize who would have the talent and knowledge to adjust, with feedback, the 5-star entry.
