Contest Brief

I run a personalised jewellery business (yup, another one!) and whilst business is good, I'm making a lot of changes lately, including rebooting my website in line with my new studio and a fresher, younger, funkier feel.

In the past I've hodge-podged logos and banners together by myself, but I would really appreciate the skills of a keener eye to make something that might stand out a bit more from the crowd. My current logo is a bit bland - the only element that I really want to keep, in some shape or form, is the stylised heart, as it is engraved on all my pieces and has become a sort of secondary hallmark of mine. The font I originally used was meant to invoke a celtic feel (as the business has a welsh name after all) but I don't think it's particularly readable...

I'm not sure if I'd want something flowing and script like, or a cleaner look - every piece of jewellery is handmade, so it would be nice to evoke that if possible, but I also want to hone in on the younger end of my market, so I don't want the logo to look too old-fashioned either.

If any colours are to be used, I'm moving to a green / orange scheme (see studio pic attached) however a single-tone logo could be useful too, as it would be simpler to get boxes printed etc. black / white could both work fine - it would be interesting to see how they play on a coloured background.

I really do need the logo to be provided with full transparency - in psd format preferably, and at a large resolution for easy use across multiple platforms and printings. Apart from this, there's not much else to say - you're the expert! I can't wait to see what you can show me :)
