Contest Brief

We are designing a new game for our company. The company name is "DigiBit". When the game is first launched, the user must select an Avatar and name the Avatar with up to 16 characters. Only "A-Z, a-z, and "_" are allowed a characters for the Avatar name. We are looking for a Unity mock up of this game. Here are the rules for the contest:

Background:
A. This game is mainly for girls and boys between 7-14 years of age.
B. We are looking for a good looking but simple design.
C. We are looking for a cartoon like feel mostly 2D Unity.
D. The "characters" do not have to be people, they can look like "animals or objects" if you think this is best.
E. The game will be fun and funny so we are not looking for anything serious.

1. We would like a simple start screen with the name "DigiBit" on it.
2. After the start screen, there should be a screen to enable users to select an Avatar from one of 25 possibilities. You must design all 25 Avatars that look like they are from different countries. We are looking for Avatars that look Asian, African, Mexican, and European.
3. The user must enter the name of the avatar. When the App closes and opens again after selecting and naming an avatar, then just the avatar should appear standing ready with some motion to play a game.
4. The mock up that looks the best and is the most fun for girls and boys will win.

Here is more information based on questions:
Also, I'd like to know what limitations there are in the character designs. Should all characters have the same hitbox (and as such more or less the same size)?
Answer: Yes the same hitbox. Same size for all characters.

Is a picture of the face enough, or is this going to be a full-body design?
Answer: Full body. We are looking for something simple in design. Maybe like a simple cartoon. Not complex for sure. Think kids 7-14 years old.

Is the character going to move in the game world?
Answer: Jump motions, Simple arm motions, Running, Walking and lifting each leg and arm one at a time will be the main motions.

How much space is the character (approximately) going to take up in the screen?
Answer: About 1/12 the screen. I will post a document that describes this better.

    Hi!

The UI and multiple character designs do fit into your budget. However, character designs are different from game-ready characters, or animating the characters. Preparing 25 characters for game use is going to be a relatively big task, even if you're going to re-use animations. Task 3, "avatar appears standing ready with some motion", is not reasonable for this task.

Also, I'd like to know what limitations there are in the character designs. Should all characters have the same hitbox (and as such more or less the same size)? Is a picture of the face enough, or is this going to be a full-body design? Is the character going to move in the game world? How much space is the character (approximately) going to take up in the screen? Which angles are the character seen from: front, side, back, top. Are the characters going to share the same animations? A sketch or reference image would be useful, here. Even a stick figure inside a rectangle representing the screen would be enough.

The first entry looks good but we are looking for entire people. No just faces. Also we are looking for something that is for kids 7-12 years old. These people look like adults.
