Contest Brief

We want to create an NFT based around Sassy-looking KittyButts. We imagine these as profile pictures people can use in things like Discord, Twitter, Facebook etc. We plan to make 10,000 kittybutts using 1 base cat design and many different colour variations, pattern variations, tails and accessories through a process of algorithmic combination. We will take all the PSD layers and combine them at random. Some combinations will be very rare, such as a pure white KittyButt with a rainbow tail and two accessories (see example picture).

What we are after:

1) PSD files, with different layers

2) 1 Main Cat Design (see example image). We love this example, we love the attitude in the kitties face. So much sASS! We love its closed eyes...makes it look even more confident! We just wish it had cute paws too

- The Cat must be SASSY (confident/bold/full of spirit)
- The Butt is the main feature and must be included - nothing gross please!
- The Cat is the MAIN background PSD layer. We must be able to apply all colour variations and accessories using layers on top of the Main Cat layer - this is very important.
- We like cute paws

3) Several different pattern designs (stripes, patches etc on different layers)

4) Several tail variations (big bushy tail, elegant tail, multicoloured tail)

5) We have many different Accessories planned... over 20. We just want to see a few to check we like your style. Types of accessories we want include - a unicorn horn, john-lennon style sunglasses, a big white fluffy mane, pink bubblegum balloon, a surgical mask, a bitcoin in the mouth, fish in the mouth, mouse tail, work tie, bow tie, gold "gangster" chain. There are many more, if you can include a couple of these on seperate layers that would be ideal.

Once we find the right artist we will want to work with them directly to create the rest of the accessories and variations at additional cost.

One of the most challenging parts of this project is designing everything so it works on layers in photoshop. It is very important that each colour variation, pattern, tail, accessory will be interchangeable through layers. Without that, we cannot create the project algorithmically as we intend.

    We gave 1st place to Sorin for their amazing entry #136 . These were exactly what we hoped for when we came up with Kittybutts and Sorin did an amazing job of making them a reality.

    We are going to award 2nd place (£75) to Valeriya with entry #119 . Valeriya is a super talented artist who came very close to winning the competition and we want to reward her for her amazing designs. Once again everyone, thank you so much!       Thank you for your submissions so far. If you do decide to submit any more, make sure they have a butt and the cat looks sassy! Sassy = cheeky, confident, full of spirit. Use simple design and thicker lines like the sample image or entries #6 , 8, 9! :)

    Dear CH, entries are "replicating" your sample image! is that what you need? same cat drawing with a slight variation? and be aware of unsolicited logos!

      We dont want an exact copy of the sample image... we want something similar but original. We gotta have a butt in the picture too, most of the entries dont have the butt sadly and thats the main part!
