Main Character Design for a 2D Isometric Game

Contest Brief

I need help defining the look of the main character of a game currently under development. I will need concept art, either in-game mock-up or however else style, showcasing the look you have in mind according to the project overview image attached. Once the concept art is accepted, the character you've designed will then need to be converted into sprites about 140px wide by 190px tall that animate walking, running and a roll in all 8 directions (up, down, left, right and diagonals).

The ideal freelancer for this project can both concept art this character (for a splash page/advertisement) but also help in creating the sprites for use in the actual game! Feel free to add anything else you feel like he needs for more personality (eg. lasso).

Character Background:
"Bob" (placeholder name) is a hardworking, simple islander young man, 2nd child to Martha and Eli, and a lover of nature. He loves to spend his days playing out in the acres of land the Kingdom of Kyvos gave to his great-great-great-great grandfather who passed it down from generation to generation where they use the land to breed kyvos (the block like animals).

"Bob" is a medium build 20-something-year-old male with short/medium length brown hair. Standing at around 5'10"(177cm), he isn't an intimidating individual, but he definitely can take care of himself when out in the fields looking after the kyvos.

The islands that the Kingdom of Kyvos is built on is located in the Indian Ocean, west of Australia and has yet to be visited by "modern civilization" save a brochure meant for the cattle ranchers in Australia that has since influenced how the kyvo ranchers in the Kingdom of Kyvo dress like in their profession, fused with their native, traditional island clothing. (Note: Cowboy hat of some sort should be included in the concept design)
