Matthew Ford
Strategy, Change Management, Engagement
Creating the conditions for buy-in, innovation and growth.
I am committed to facilitating processes that enable people to have the conversations that matter, embrace change, develop strategy and achieve their goals. I achieve this by creating collaborative client relationships and designing interventions that deliver practical sustainable outcomes.

The Leadership of Change
I take a whole-of- system approach to working with change and organisational development. A good model for thinking about change and the systems at work within an organisation is the Six Circle Model, sometimes referred to as the “below the green line” model (developed and refined by a number of people including Marg Wheatley (1992), Tim Dalmau (2000) and Steve Zuieback (2012).

Team Development
We are a small group species! Much of the work we do we do in teams. Effective teams have certain characteristics:
• they are clear about identity and purpose
• there is a lot of discussion, and it’s about the about the priorities – the things that matter,
• group members are not afraid of conflict, and
• the leadership of the team is shared (everyone can lead!).
Matthew works with teams to develop their effectiveness in these areas, helping them to clarify purpose, understand their own group dynamics and enhancing their skills in key areas such as group communication, negotiation and conflict resolution.
My Approach
Matthew’s approach to all consulting projects includes a commitment to:
• Client-focus: delivering practical sustainable outcomes that respond to the specific requirements of the client
• Maintaining high professional standards
• Transferring skills and expertise
• Delivering a quality result on time.

_________________________________________________________

Hi,
I am an Australian based management consultant specialising in facilitating group processes - decision making and strategy development. I want a new vibrant website that projects energy, enthusiasm, verve.
This brief is just for the graphic design, not the actual development of the website.
My current website is here - www.matthewford.com.au
The current website is pitched to the aged care and disability sector - I want the new one to appeal more broadly ... the work i do is relevant for any sector.
I m after a clean minimalist design but with strong colours. I like the following sort of websites (but realise management consulting is not the same as art and photography!)

https://www.creativebloq.com/web-design/25-websites-use-minimalism-91516685

I also like the marketer Seth Goldin's site, it's bold and vibrant -
https://www.sethgodin.com/

And this one -
https://symbolset.com/

Hope that gives you a sense of the sort of look i am after,

Thanks! Matthew

    Hello, Matthew.
Your photo is not good quality, you do not mind if it will occupy a small container on the your site? Maybe like on Akimbo's website on the left bar menu, this is a convenient and concise solution, I like it. The photo is on the left side and always reminds users that they are dealing with a real person who can be asked a question at any time.
If you have a photo in a better quality, you can put it on the main banner, as people like to see the face of a specialist, the one they're dealing with.

    What do you think about?

One last question and I'll be done. So sorry you have not found what you are looking for btw! I have looked at the websites you linked, but I was wondering your opinion on art like this for the site: https://www.freepik.com/free-vector/business-training-consulting-horizontal-banners-set_3789870.htm OR https://www.freepik.com/free-vector/horizontal-banners-business-training_2875390.htm OR https://www.freepik.com/free-vector/office-work-man-sitting-table-working-laptop-data-processing-bank-employee_3629587.htm. These might be wide of the mark, but I thought I'd give it a shot to show you something that might work well with the site. Thanks for all the feedback so far!

Happy to get your questions ... look yeah, in the first one, I like the width - the horizontal banners .... I reiterate my preference for a "less is more" approach, minimalist and clean. ... and sure, I think this could be done through this type of banner. I've been a bit unsure of what I think of stock images, In the past I've been pretty skeptical about them but I accept they have their place and could maybe work well. So please give it a go if you have an idea with this. The second link doesn't work as well for me, mostly cause it's not as wide ( but the approach is similar to the first one yeah?) The third link didn't seem to work. Hope that helps. I'm open to all these ideas/approaches , mostly, again, as long as there's not too much going on! :) And am after some large elegant fonts for the main headings - my name "Matthew Ford" ... and the two main headings that follow ... hope that helps. Finally I think my photo does need to be there - I am the product! Cheers, Matthew

Menu: (Consulting Training Resources & links Contact) What content would be put into the Resources and Links page? Would this be the content that is currently in your blog page? Also for Contact would you want a form with the address/email in your website? Or just the address/email? I am also considering joining Consulting and Training into a Services tab like how you have in your current website to make it cohesive. I am also going to advocate for an 'About' page where your methodologies and background can be more easily organized and explained. Also, would you be open to more cartoon graphics explaining everything, or do you prefer actual photos? In which case, do you have any more photos to decorate the website with? I feel like this would be a good way to start and let other freelancers know your requirements more! Thanks again for you feedback!

Hi Christine, this piece of work is just to develop the art, not design or build a website. I think that probably means just designing two pages - the landing page and a template for all subsequent pages. I've got to say it seems a lot of website designers who aren't necessarily also graphic designers have offered up designs for my website - but they are nothing like what I want. I have repeated a number of times that I am after a clean minimalist but vibrant look ... but a lot of people just seem to have no idea what this might look like, and seem to be focussed on the mechanics of the site instead. Please have a look at the examples sites I quite like (in the Description) for ideas/inspiration (some of the things you have done, in your portfolio, suggest you may understand the sort of look i am after!) . Look forward to seeing your ideas!

P.S. A couple of additional points - As I've said in previous posts i have a web designer who will take the art developed through this process and build my website. Secondly, I have uploaded a photo of myself that probably should be included - b&w or colour. I am unsure about the use of stock photos but certainly one or two may work ok ... in particular a photo of a group of people in a meeting. The central part of my work is facilitating teams of people to have discussions and make good decisions and develop strategy.

Hey Matthew, is there any chance we can talk more about the requirements for the site via chat, etc.? I feel like I need to know a lot more to really build the minimalist beautiful site (which I think is a design that is very much possible!) you are looking for. I also have some ideas about site layout that I think would be beneficial to the usability of the site. Thank you!

Hi Sudhir, as I say in the description and comments below, this is a graphic design job, what I want is beautiful art, not a website built - I will give the art to my web designer to use to build the website - he has asked for the outputs in a Flat Jpeg and with all the fonts identified. Cheers, Matthew
