Contest Brief

Create original art for the cover of Nightwalker, a forthcoming young adult ghost story!

Nightwalker is a spooky young adult fantasy novel. It is set in the land of Milabel, where spirits from a deep canyon will possess settlers who go outside at night. Maren begins hearing the spirits, and an inquisition-like organization hunts her for it. She meets a team of others who can interact with the spirits – Milo, who can exorcise the possessed; Liesel, Theo, and Cal, who can conjure and mentally control balls of blue light that hurt the ghosts; and Alec, who leads the group but is slowly turning into one of the spirits. Alec and Maren are romantically interested in each other. In an effort to free Milabel (and Alec) from the spirits, the group ventures deep into a canyon, where an ancient cave temple may contain key information.

The desired cover will work for both paperback and e-book formats. In the paperback format, the art will wrap around the spine. The back cover should be suitable for placing to-be-determined text (book reviews, etc.).
