Contest Brief

Needpedia.org is a public archive for solutions to problems currently under development. Over the years a considerable body of infographics and other graphic media has been developed to explain the technology (about how to use it and about it's intended human impacts); however, the pieces come from a broad array of different artists and styles, so they don't match at all.

I'm here today to find someone interested in upgrading them and creating new ones. I need to see you're good at creating illustrations, and instead of seeing you keep the prices down by halfassing things, I'd prefer you... whole ass a smaller, or simpler piece. -I'd also want to know if you have ideas for going big, but I want to see a basic sketch of the idea with a budget proposal first.

If we can make quality media, then we can inspire people with this archive for solutions to all of humanities problems. I'm a psych major with experience in the field, I designed Needpedia using that experience and have every confidence listing ideas for problems is itself a good idea, but I lack the charisma to pull this off on my own. I need your work, your characters and skill to attract and motivate them.

I should also note that the best work for me comes from artists who take the time to do a few preliminary sketches of different ideas, to then bounce them off of me. Don't pour time and energy into something before you know it's what I'm looking for.

Mind you those sketches can also be worth money. I had one artist who'd doodle on paper and they just looked so interesting that I could use 'em as interesting backgrounds for articles and stuff. You'd be surprised, and if I ever ask too much you can tell me you think it'd be fair to charge a bit more. As long as you're producing good content and not price gouging me once we have some stuff that actually matches, I'll be happy.

Your work is your resume so this is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build their portfolio and get paid.

Most pieces I need are fairly simple, so I'm setting the standard price for a piece at 20USD. -But that's with the assumption that you'll apply minimalism , so it shouldn't take you more than an hour, (including the time it takes to do a few sketches and brainstorm on ideas with me). And there'll be lots of work too, if you did a piece a day you'd make enough to pay bills. I don't expect you to work every day but ya could if you wanted to.

And we're 100% doing this to save humanity. There's no investors, only people who see that the world is burning, and we need to start solving problems based on which ideas are best, instead of the endless bullshit put fourth by politicians.

The moment we've proved better technology exists and most people agree on a few ideas, politicians will be forced to either work with the public on those ideas, or look bad.

And in the meantime we'll be able to help each other with small, doable ideas, like what to do about back pain, and car problems. So now I need infographics, comics, illustrations and 'explainers' that show people how Needpedia enables them to do all these different things. To get started, upgrade the layer system graphic. The layer system lets you add layers to posts, so experts and others can help without making the public layer hard to understand. The first two pics are from previous artists. The third is an example of sketch art. Extra credit goes to whoever actually read this and actually brainstorms a little with me. I'm talking about forming a business relationship here, it's a lot bigger than this one gig.

Did you see the layer system graphics attached in the post? I can show you some other stuff too if it helps you think of something.
