Using Mac OS X Tiger, I want to automate email tasks. First one is to forward an email, preferably using Eudora 6.2. Email is in Eudora, and I will highlight a word in the email, and then push button. The highlighted word will turn into the localpart of an email address. 1) Keyboard Maestro will call script, probably Applescript. Script will copy selected text and add a suffix that will create an email address. Suffix will be a constant, and will consist of "AT"domain.com. Where AT is really the AT Symbol - Shift 2 on the keyboard. 2) Script will forward that email, maybe using Keyboard Maestro to call menu selection in Eudora. That menu selection is MESSAGE:FORWARD. We receive emails with attachment (could be .rtf, pdf, doc, excel) to a certain email address. Email client is Entourage or Apple Mail (latest versions) We would like an applescript (or automator) that can print any type of attachment and then convert it to a pdf (if it is not already) and save it to a folder for archiving. There would need to be a folder for unprinted attachments, as the printer maybe in use or not switched on when the emails come in. Once they are printed they would be moved to the archive folder. We would need the senders name and date of sending as the file name. ie There must be a way of telling the script what programme to open certain types of files with. ie .rtf must always be opened with MS Word. Convert QuickTime Movie (.mov) (exported from Final Cut Pro HD 4.5) to DV Stream (.dv) by scripting Mac OS X 10.3's QuickTime Player (Pro) to do the conversion. We're a small school district. We've got eight different schools, each with a database stored on an AppleShare server that runs OS 9. We want a script to mount each server at a pre-set time, copy the database from that school into a folder on one of our workstations, so we can burn a CD the next morning (we can do that part manually). It would be nice if the process included a separate folder for each day of the week. Each week thereafter, the old data could be dumped and the new data added to the appropriate day's folder. Complicating factors include the fact that this automated process needs to be triggered after working hours. I need a method for tracking use of my QuickTime files. I will frequently get people "borrowing" them and it would be nice to know where they are using them online. I'm open to a better solution but here's my strategy If within each quicktime file (track) it needed a very small file on my server I could track URL's through webtrends. So what would need to be developed is a Applescript or a Utility that would add to each QuickTime this track. Specifically I am looking to take Adobe Illustrator files and save them without PDF information. The script will need to diffarentiate between AI CS and earlier formats.
