I have an old VHS video tape (32 minutes long) that I've gotten transferred to my computer, but it exhibits interlacing artefacts (horizontal lines). I've tried using Handbrake to deinterlace the file and while the interlaced artefacts are indeed removed, it adds some unacceptable banding effects. I estimate the useable footage I'll need to extrapolate should not exceed 10 minutes in total duration; as the we demo video will be 2-3 minutes in total, I suspect it should come in well under that. I have been unsuccessful in using an Avisynth plug-in to accomplish this task and my NLE's de-interlacing options are useless. Rather than wasting time on scripting and plug-ins, I'd rather accomplish other tasks and have an expert handle this for me.
