I need to have a java function built that will take 4 parameters.. A file name, a blob object, an X coord size (default to 100 px) and a Y coord size (again defaulting to 100 px). This function should return return a thumbnail image or a null if the file passed in does not allow a thumbnail image to be created.
The function needs to handle the following file types:
1) Jpg
2) Tiff
3) Gif
4) Png
5) PDF
6) DWG (Autocad style drawing files).
Sounds simple enough, I am JUST NOT a Java type developer.. I do more Oracle Pl/SQL development.. This function will be wrapped by a pl/sql function call and used in a small application I need for a school district I have offered to help with..
Thanks!
It seems that all your formats are feasible, however a pdf thumbnail generation is the heaviest one and it will require additional external libraries. I hope it's not a problem for you. Also there is lack of information about the result from this function. Is it a new blob object?
I have been programming for over 10 years and I have plenty of experience with image manipulation, having specialized in computer graphics during my computer science degree. Your task is fairly simple, Java has libraries for opening all of those files, and creating a resized image file is also built in. I believe I can get this done in a matter of hours. I guarantee good clean commented code.
I can do this project perfectly based on your requirements and give you a complete satisfactory deliverable. Kindly check "PMB" for my sample works and terms of service.
