I have a client who I have a contract with to produce a photography website for. I have built the functionality of the site and demonstrated it to my client. He was very happy with it all except that he wants to be able to upload loads of image files at the same time to the site.

This is not possible, as the website allows you to add and remove catagories and subcategories, and then add products one at a time (in his case photographs) for purchase under those subcategories.

For demo of the system please view [url removed, login to view]

Click on weddings / View Proofs / Select album Cozens Wedding.

At the moment you add a subcategory (Album) and then add one at a time the products to it, and then once they are uploaded, you add the options you require to each product.

I need the code to be edited a tiny bit to allow him to upload all the photos via FTP to a folder in his images directory (rather than using ASP upload one at a time like it does at the moment) and then the ASP needs to check the folder & find all the images in that folder and automatically add the details for them to the Access Database, it will just need to add each image file name to a field called "SKU" and to a field called "ProductName" in the products table, along with the other details submitted on the form.

Then, rather than adding the price details and options ect.. to each item, you add them once to the subcategory (album) and the details will be applied to all the photos in that folder. (maybe by clicking a link called update catagory)

For this to work, the code would need to be adapted to create a folder for the images each time a subcategory is added.

Then the client would have to upload his images via ftp to their folder, and then run the add photos script in the admin area of the site, which would find all the images in the folder for that subcategory and add their details to the database. Once this was done you could add the options (already set up) to the category and they would show up on all the photos.

Changes Required:

1) to have the ASP create a folder in the images directory with the same name as the sub subcategory you are adding.

notes: The system already lets you add the subcategory, it just needs to create the folder at the same time.

2) to have the add photo function check for image files located in the folder mentioned above, and add them all to the products table of the database in one go, including the details you submit on the add photo form.

notes: The system already lets you add the products and photos using the add photo form, it just adds them one at a time currently, & it doesnt check the folder to get the file names automatically, you have to enter the name in the form.

3) to edit the add item options function so that it will apply the options to all the items in the database under the subcategory you are working on in one go.

notes: The system already lets you add the options, it just needs to apply them to the entire subcategory at the same time. It requires the same sort of modification as the add photos function.

Thats it!

Please let us know what this would cost, & if you need more info just ask
