Hello,
I have already written few articles on VR. Please find the sample.
In the space of virtual reality, sensorama signified the evolution of 3D technology for the first time. However, sensorama console were quite big, and could be used only by one person. As a result, Headsight was developed, which was a head mount device (HMD). Headsight was capable of developing VR based illusions, even though the concept of VR didn’t exist that time. Headsight was also limited to only one viewer, and this was one of the reason why its popularity was limited. The concept of stereoscopic vision was enhanced with the development of “Anaglyph 3D”, which depicted different visions for each of the eyes, using red & cyan filters. This viewer has to view a content based on “anaglyph 3D”, in red & blue glasses. Although, the concept of virtual reality existed since the era of panoramic paintings, the term itself was coined in the year of 1987 by Jaron Lanier. It could be said that the evolution of VR was blend of cultural and technological evolutions, and it definitely happened in phases. Since, its birth in 1987, the phenomenon of VR went through multiple developments, and its application has gone beyond cinema. One such field was video games, where VR was used for the development of 3D video games. In the year of 1995, “virtual boy” was developed, which was the first 3D based portable game.
