Project: Simple DirectShow Live Video Preview Only
Description:
Demonstrate DirectShow capabilities in VB. Allow for previewing of live video inputs from any capture or Microsoft WDM device attached in a PC. Strictly preview only, no capture or extra initiallization of unwanted services.
Our initial research application can be written in less than 30 lines of code.
What is important is that the display region is in X,Y locations other than 0,0. Example the display region on the form is at (x,y,w,h) 50,45,320,280. And that it is not tied to a specific device, it must accept Windows Imaging devices, video capture devices, or TV Tuners. So use as much abstraction as possible.
Must show codes doing the following:
1. Initializing filtergraph manager
2. Selection of available video input devices
3. Previewing
4. Release of devices
Place code in a single subroutine only. Self-contained. No 3rd party ocx or dll. All this can be implemented using DirectX. Use a separate form for the video output. Video quality and fluidity is a must.
Embedded assembly or C++ codes are acceptable.
