We are just getting started with AutoHotKey. We have a Windows 7 workstation with a barcode scanner attached to a USB port. It's a typical scanner in that the PC just sees a scan as keyboard input.
We want to pass the contents of the scan (normally a 10 digit - two letters and up to eight digits) to two applications.
The first will be a windows shortcut and it will need the scanned number inserted into it's link. This will result in a document returned in an IE browser session.
The second app is a Windows application and it will need to be made the active window and the scan data inserted into a specific data entry field.
I realize that the programmer will not have knowledge of these applications but I am hoping to get a script that we can continue to tune on our side.
