Good Morning,
Greetings from Jacksonville FL USA. My name is Carey A. Gibbs, Co-founder and President of Development Services at G2 Group.
Congratulations! As I am sure you are aware, an operations manual is absolutely imperative to a company's longevity. I have personally witnessed Too Many companies that try to operate without an Operations Manual and instead try to "wing it" or "play it by ear" if you will.
A standard Operations Manual, as taught by many schools and Universities, follows the standard "acceptable practice" for an operational manual, and would include items such as the following;
I. Governing documents
II. List of Officers
III. Standard Operating Procedures
IV. Risk Management
V. History of the company or enterprise
VI. All internal documentation (Forms)
This was taken directly from Texas A&M University.
It has been my experience that this is an incomplete listing for a "true" Operations Manual. To complete an Operational Manual that is truly a living breathing document (one that is used as a guideline for the company) you must also add the following;
Training Manual
Broken down by key positions with each duties listed and explained
Organizational Charting
Work Flow through company
Product Flow through company
Key Vendors listing with primary and secondary suppliers and all info on each
This would be the bare minimum acceptable standard for an operations manual, in addition to this I would recommend also include a Emergency Continuity Plan, as well as breaking the Operations Manual into two very distinct volumes, one for a guideline to be used as a dicision making tool for those in charge and the other as a new employee hire packet.
We would be able to provide all of these products; the Operations manual, the New Hire Manual, as well as the Emergency Continuity Plan.
This will be done for the price of $750 with an estimated timeframe of 21 business days to competition.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
