Hello, Background: I am a Mumbai based 42 years old uncle and I wanted to share some life notes with my nieces and nephews. I managed to write all that I wanted to share in a conversational style in my first draft. I am not a professional writer and this is my first attempt at writing such notes. These notes are for personal reading of my nieces and nephews (not commercial). Requirement: Now, I am looking for help from a Copy Editor to review and use the comments feature of Google Docs to add suggestions, corrections and notes. A Copy Editor who has lived in Mumbai may identify with the context of the problems and lifestyle issues listed in these notes better. A Copy Editor who is 40+ years old with precious children in their life would have the empathy and understand my insecurities for the precious children in my life. Special Requirement: I have used a very direct language so as to be brutally honest with them and shared private / personal things that we adults usually don’t speak about. I have shared my vulnerabilities and put myself “out there”. So I am looking for someone mature and sensitive who’s not too judgemental to castigate me. Someone who understands my intent and helps restructure, rephrase, reword and restate these notes in a better way to allow my nieces and nephews to understand and benefit from these notes. Caveat: The theme of these notes are sharing solutions and ideas about things that we adults don't talk about with my teenage nieces and nephews... topics like our body, life, religion, love, food, money, future, etc. These notes address solutions for topics like bad breath, pimples, etc. You are forewarned and so don’t be grossed out. Pricing: This is a personal project for sharing my life notes with nieces and nephews and not commercial work. So, I am looking for most economical pricing (under Rs.1,000) and yet a mature hand that helps deliver the intended result / benefits of these notes. Bonus Reward: Agreed, the monetary reward of this project is not substantial. But I guess a Copy Editor who is a compulsive reader and who has precious children in their life would identify with the topics, my insecurities and may enjoy the chuckles in my notes. Timing & Effort: This is not a website development assignment (yes, some freelancers started submitting bids without even reading my notes). This is not an advertisement that needs to be finished in one day. Young SEO professionals who prefer “u” instead of “you” and “wid” instead of “with” may please ignore my anyway low paying Copy Editing project request. With liberal spacing, empty lines between bullet points, repetition, table of contents, etc. my draft notes are 90 pages. I hope to find a Copy Editor who takes their time to read and enjoy these notes. Someone who can collaborate with me a few chapters at a time. In my effort to write out my first draft to capture my thoughts, I may have mixed up the tenses within sentences or active / passive voices within paragraphs or made grammatical mistakes through-out my notes. If a particular type of mistake is pointed out in one place, then I can look up and rectify similar mistakes in other places too.
