Combine Two MS Doc Files Into One & Format

We are combining two manuscripts for two books into one manuscript for one book, so need someone with excellent Microsoft Word experience to:
+ Merge both documents into one MS Word document (DOC file type) with book 1 preceding book 2
+ Ensure that all the paragraph styles are set to “Body Text”
+ Some of the paragraphs are double-line spaced, so these will need to be converted to single-line spacing. The "Body Text" style includes separation space after each paragraph so double-line spacing is not needed.
+ Create a “Heading 0” style which is hierarchically above “Heading 1” for the two book's titles, so you can...
+ Create a new “Table-of-Contents” (TOC) at the front of the document (showing H0, H1, H2) and delete the individual TOC's at the front of each of the separate manuscripts
+ Heading 0 & Heading 1 should start on an 'odd page' (aka the right page)
+ Fix any obvious spelling problems and let us know about any obvious grammar problems
+ The header of each page on the combined manuscript should say which book the reader is on
+ The footer should just be the current page number
+ The page margins should be the same throughout the document

+ Manuscript 1 is 219 pages, royal page size 15.6cm x 23.4cm, English Language (UK)
+ Manuscript 2 is 311 pages, royal page size 15.6cm x 23.4cm, English Language (UK)
You'll need excellent Microsoft Word skills including:
+ Insert & Update a “Table of Contents” that is generated from the Heading styles throughout the documents
+ Know what a header & footer is
+ Understand what “Styles” are know how they work in MS Word
I'm sorry if the above sounds obvious but we've hired a freelancer before who knew none of the above and was updating headers, footers and TOC by hand in a 300 page document. Ouch.
