I am recommending using a standard open source 3D printer controller as the hardware for this project which is already capable of meeting your requirements including the pendant, and are cheap, readily available and proven. I will write the firmware for the controller to your requirements and will assist in filling any gaps in your requirements if neccessary. I am also willing to install the electronics and commission the machine if I can access it. (I live in Perth and travel to Melbourne often)
