IoT BLE Device based on modified Texas Instruments' CC2541 SoC SensorTAG
Modify the comprehensive TI supplied SensorTAG reference design to enhance it's capabilities from both hardware and firmware.
At this stage I don't want to start from beginning with other BLE SOC's even if they are better.
Your scope doesn't need to include the Android & iOS App development however should you have skills in this area we can addressed as a separate project.

We would like to have following hardware changes to standard SensorTAG;
Changes to Electronic Design
- New PCA so it can be housed in a different mechanical package
- larger Batery
- Brighter LEDs
- More Memory
- Future addition of additional MEMS Sensors such as microphone
Required Firmware Functionality
- Act as an iBeacon broadcasting a user configurable friendly name
- Discoverable by iOS or Android Device with suitable App
- Vibration sensor acts as simple user interface so Tap it 3 or 4 will activate certain function
- Provide Battery Life information
- Log to memory
- Measure
IR Temp, Ambient Temp, Magnetic Field, Vibration, Accelerometer, Humidity, Pressure, + expansion for other MEMS
- Each Variable's logging frequency to be user selectable via App
- App can force LED to Flash for identification
- Communication
o Able to communicate it's stored data via Bluetooth to other Bluetooth devices e.g. Phone/Tablet or other BLE Enabled Gateway
o The firmware of the micro controller must be flashable/upgradeable via Bluetooth
o Under normal operation, above variables will be saved to the flash memory with a time-stamped log.
o The flash memory should be big enough to store data up to 90 days
o External component can send a request to the MCU for a data-dump.
