Design and drawings of mechanical sensor arm with base clip. Project: pH & Temperature Data Logger Sensor arm, Mechanics I am looking for help in designing a mechanical arm to hold a sensor used in connection with our pH and Temperature data logger units (PTL). The head of the sensor arm will have to hold 2 different sensors types – 1 x temperature sensor and 1 x pH sensor. The design of the arm must be so stiff that the weight of the sensors will not move during its operation. But the arm must also be moveable for adjustment of location of the sensor. At the base of the arm there must be a clip which can be attached to the vat. The clip must be able to hold the weight of the arm and the sensor connected. Connected to the clip must be a holder for the PTL logger as an integrated part of the design. The size of the logger box is 118mm tall x 78mm wide x 33mm thick. The sensor must be able to reach any point within 50cm from the base clip. All design suggestions are welcome as long as they fulfill the requirements of stability, size and the environmental requirements. (Flex arm, gooseneck, etc) The arm will be operating in wet environment in facilities used in the food industry and must be made out of stainless steel. The temperature where the arm will be operating will be from 0 to +70 Degrees C. The job consists of making the design, modeling and the production drawings of the design, when the design is approved. The production drawings should show all side views of items and must be drawn in SolidWorks. The production drawings must be in accordance with US Standards. A modeling of the items contained in the PSU must be done to insure that there are no issues with location and sizing. The price should include the time needed for 2 rounds of corrections of the drawings if such are needed. What is the PTL? The PTL is a system of data loggers sitting at a food media fermenting in an open vat (vat = tub). The PTL logger is intended to be hooked onto the side of the vat in connection with the sensor arm. The sensor (pH or Temperature) is placed so they can be inserted into the food media during its fermenting process. The sensor arm is to be made out of stainless steel. This is due to the environment the PTL will be sitting (in food and dairy processing plants). Here there are requirements for frequent cleaning and the rooms are very wet! The mechanical design needed is to make a design of the sensor arm with holders for the logger at the base end and sensor at the other end. The design of the bracket for mounting the PTL on the vat (the clip) must have the capability to be connected on different thickness of vats. The clip must be adjustable since the thickness of vat is not known (1 – 12cm). The clip must be made with a protective “layer” so they do not scratch the vat.

Hi, I am a mechanical engineer with extensive experience in design of mechanical systems and can do this project very easily for you. I have designed up to 40Kg class UAVs having more than 800 moving parts besides other machines like coffee roasting machine, etc. Please visit my profile for more details on my past projects. However the project budget is too low to do any quality work therefore I am bidding an amount which I think is suitable for the project because I never compromise on the quality of work. If you have any queries do let me know. Regards Anuj Garg

Thank you very much for the opportunity to bid on your project. To proceed with your design I would also need to know how data logger should be attached to the arm? How the sensors will be attached to the arm? How much wall of the vat vertically may be used for the arm attachment? How much space available around a vat bf any will be required for attachment and adjustment? The rest of the requirements are clear enough.
