I have a schematic for the studio microphones we use. Unfortunately they have been out of production for 30 years.
We've tracked down the modern equivalents to all the parts, upgraded a few bits and bobs, and pretty much just need someone who knows what they're doing, regarding the high-impedance resistors, to lay out and build the thing so that it works, sounds reasonably like the originals, and doesn't hum like some hellish mosquito.
My soldering skills are comparable to a third-grader's cement-laying ability, so I figured I'd be wise to outsource this.
Anyone wishing to be seriously considered should demonstrate, in their proposal, a basic knowledge of why you shouldn't install a 500-ohm resistor right next to the FET.
I have categorized this as "simple project" on the premise of us supplying the parts. If you wish to quote this two ways - you supplying the parts, or me supplying the parts, that's fine. Do not be afraid to exceed the suggested price range. Looking for a per-unit quote. If the first one produced is the same quality as the originals, there will be repeat orders, albeit somewhat infrequently.
Many, many thanks!
P.S. Preferable FET = InterFET 2n4867 and other difficult-to-acquire parts can be supplied by me.
P.P.S. 3/5-pin output and adapter also not necessary. Direct hookup via XLR is not only acceptable, but preferable. = )
