Regarding your project, I understand your idea and can finish it quickly, within 2-3 hours. Indeed, your idea is a special type of trailing and we need make an EA to do manage the trades according to your logic. Only a thing I need discuss: I think the Option: UPDATE TIME: 2 min that specify the time period to check all position and update SL (by PIPS OFFSET) is not appropriate. Indeed, the EA Trade Manager need to check every tick to be sure keep the position up to date. I suppose that with your default setting: UPDATE TIME: 2 min, what happen if price satisfy MINS PIP condition but now move away more than PIPS OFFSET?. EA will close, or what will do?. mt4 Hey, I'd be pleased to help you with this. So you basically need a trailing stop that triggers at a minimum level defined in pips. I can get it done for you in less than a few hours after accepting my bid (even though you get to test it for some time, and I'll be available for potential bug fixing and small adjustments after that if necessary). However, what about the minimum update time? If we update the SL right now, we won't update it in the next 2 minutes, even if the price increases? Is this how it works? mt4 Hi, I have a question regarding your project I wish clarified. Does this mean that PIPS_OFFSET will always be smaller than MIN_PIPS? Also, is this a script that just infinite loops to do this for every trade on the platform, or is this an EA that also has a trading plan behind this? If so, you didn't mention the entries. I'm confused because your title says script, but your starting sentence mentions this is a expert advisor. I have over a decade of experience coding trading systems, and spent the last 7 years focused on developing in mql4/5 for the metatrader platform. mt4 Hi, I understand that this is an EA that will apply a trailing stop after the trades reach a certain amount of profit. In the example, from what I understand, after a trade is 30 pips in profit, a trailing stop of 10 pips will be applied. One thing that seems unnecessary here is the UPDATE_TIME parameter. EAs usually cycle every tick, so the stops could be updated every tick on the chart that the EA is attached to. If you wait two minutes, the trailing stop may not be effective in high volatility situations. I have made many complex EAs, this one sounds like it is more on the simplistic side. To complete this project, I just need to know if you want to omit the UPDATE_TIME parameter, a suggestion I made a bit up in this proposal. From there, it should be done within one day of coding.
