We are a small all volunteer non-profit that works with children and adults with autism. [login to view URL] teaches children with autism how to react in an emergency situation through animation, story and firehouse field trips. The other part of our program [login to view URL] trains first responders on autism awareness and helps them to be better prepared for emergencies involving individuals with autism. Every year we get the opportunity to go the largest fire conference in the world in Indianapolis, Indiana. Here our volunteers pass out free training codes for our first responder autism awareness program and seek donations to keep the program up and going. We are always asked if we have to t-shirts to buy to support the program and unfortunately we do not. This year we decided to try to have some made. A local graphic artist was going to design them for free, but she has been unreachable lately and the conference is in the beginning of April. We came up with the concept of FRAT, First Responder Awareness Team. We thought that after autism awareness we could design shirts to raise money for other awareness causes that are supported by firefighters, like; Fallen Firefighters, 911 Memorial, Cancer, etc. under the FRAT concept. Firefighters like shirts that stand out and capture the essence of what we do. (Yes, I am also a volunteer firefighter) Here is a successful for- profit company that has capitalized on t-shirts for firefighters. [login to view URL] We hope to be successful to, but with all the profits going to support great causes like training first responders in autism awareness. IN the US, 1-88 children are born with some level of autism. Since autism is not curable, there are over 3 million adults in the US with autism too. Every first responder will probably be involved in a situation involving an individual with autism this year, In The US and around the world. I am attaching our logo.
