We have a website which is in beta phase - [login to view URL] -which needs an experienced Rails developer to bring to final launch September.
You will be in charge of four willing and enthusiastic interns to whom you should be able to delegate work to and provide advice/guidance when necessary through email/Skype.
Key deliverables
Security - developer should be experienced in establishing relevant security measures prior to launch of a website, protecting against data loss, malware etc.
SEO - SEO performance should be maximised across the site, with robust analytics performance
Geolocation functionality - users of the website should be provided with a list of relevant service providers in their vicinity.
Rewards scheme - we want to reward members who interact with the website by sending them with points/improved status (think TripAdvisor) with an automated mailer to inform them of their progress and news of new services/products bases on their interests
Third-party content creation - writers/bloggers etc. should be able to securely submit content to the website. Older content should be stored and archived in a way that is accessible to users.
Code organisation - all of the CSS and JavaScript is currently located in views, resulting in significant redundancy and poor readability. Requires knowledge of Rails asset pipeline.
Design - the website is largely responsive but needs an experience d eye and an ability to identify and make necessary fixes and ensure a mobile friendly experience.
Perfection of search functionality in site - we need search results to be refreshed based on clicking certain in page filters without sending post request and form entry to be dynamic/predictive
Testing - key functionality to be asserted
We would hope to establish a longer-term relationship with our chosen developer on completion of successful launch.
