I have a Fedora1 system running sendmail and dovecot. I want to transfer all email accounts from old server to new cpanel server without changing the POP3 login username and password. I don't want to make all of my customers change their email client settings Any new accounts I will enter using the standard cpanel way of doing things. I own the server and have root access. On the Fedora1 server, all email is entered as standard accounts with std shadow passwords etc. For a customer to get their pop3 email they use a simple username/password that matches the system example: mail server is for [login to view URL] email is mycustomer at [login to view URL] customer's pop3 login is username: mycustomer password: his_password I want to move all of these over to a new server running centos 5 and cpanel (which uses exim as the MTA and dovecot as the POP3 /IMAP server ) I have been told that the hash used by cpanel is different from the one used by a linux system account and this may make transfer impractical. I currently have 318 accounts to move over. can this be done? If so, how difficult is it going to be and how much will it cost?
