shell script to extract information from logfile

I have a logfile with multiples entries (not every entry has the same format, however I need only information from 1 specific entry type). The entries contain information on sending scripts in a hosting environment.

What the script should do:

The script should get the content of a log file, group the sending domains and count them. There should be 2 variables that allow me to set the level once the amount reaches a either warning or critical level.

If warning level is reached the script should send out an email to a specified address (variable) with the information of the domain that is reaching the warning level.

The script will run as cron job, no interaction should be made from command line.

To give you an idea you will find a sample log file attached to the project.
