I'm designing a meteo-station APK, my board mounts a Rockchip RK3188 (ARM) and a GPIO port is available. I can change permissions and even export the GPIO pin directly from [login to view URL] (already done) before install the firmware. So this is a stock ROM.
What I need, because I'm not experienced on JAVA APK, NDK and so on, is communicate the Android APK with the 1-wire sensor connected to the GPIO pin. As it's 1-wire tech, just need 1 wire to get and receive bytes. The apk must send info to the sensor and get the reply from th GPIO pin. Later "translate" the received info (some bytes) to numbers (temperature and humidity values) and show it in the APK.
I don't need now to make a beautiful APK, just communicate with the sensor. I can later make the graphic design and so on, but I need first to comunicate with the sensor and get the info (in a variable I guess).
With enough knowledge I think this is not difficult, even a C based library is available from 1-wire (dallas/maxim). Maybe using the NDK to call that library is a good way. Also maybe can be done directly by JAVA...
Thanks
Hi, I read your interesting project. Made very much. I have experience writing programs for Android, interacting with a variety of external devices. Also in the NDK.
