c# booking/reservation optimization algorithm

I am writing a scheduler web application for daily/weekly bookings of vehicles. The system is comprised of around 15 vehicles of which some are interchangeable and some aren't. When someone tries to book a certain time span with a number of parameters e.g number of seats e t c and no vehicle is available I need an algorithm to see if moving other bookings to other cars will open a space for the current booking.
Note: I'm not looking for a scheduler application, I'm already programming that part myself. What I need is the optimization algorithm that after a new booking is initialized will decide if other bookings can be moved to other vehicles to fit the new booking, or if not decline the booking.
If you already did something similar for hotels or rooms, I would be interested to hear about it, and what info you would need to adjust it to my system.
