PLEASE NOTE: This project is intended for damianhill40.

Our eLearning Module Catalog is designed to read data into a SQL Server database from a .xlsx file, then display our product listing on our website. We've made some formatting changes to the source .xlsx that are throwing off the import, and we need this corrected.

Objects/Properties:

MODULES are our basic product. Each module has a TITLE, a DESCRIPTION, and one or more OBJECTIVES. It also has an ACTIVITY value that determines whether it appears in the catalog.

CATEGORIES are the groupings into which Modules are placed in the catalog. Each Category has a Title and a Value Statement.

Some categories have SUBCATEGORIES, some do not. Subcategories only have Titles.

Catalog Functionality:

The front page is a table of all Categories associated with Modules in the database. Each Category is displayed with a graphic and rollover image. I'm afraid I don't know exactly how these are mapped in the application; it's not based on anything in the spreadsheet. Hopefully this will be easy enough to suss out.

When the user clicks a Category, its Title and Value Statement are displayed, alongside an icon image. Below that is either a listing of its associated Subcategories (if it has any), or else an accordion control that lists the Module Titles associated with that Category. If Subcategories are listed, then when one of those is clicked, the user will see the accordion for the modules in that Subcategory.

When the user clicks a Module Title, the accordion expands to show that Module's Description.

At the top of each page is a Search function, which searches for Modules that contain the search term in either the Title, Description, or Objectives. (The Objectives are never displayed to the user; they are imported into the database for search purposes only.)

There is also a Learning List functionality that allows users to compile a custom list of Modules. This functionality shouldn't need to be changed, but will need to be preserved through any changes that are made.

Mappings:

Each line on the "Modules" tab of the spreadsheet is one module. Their properties are mapped as follows:

- Title: column B

- Description: column D

- Objectives: column E

- Categories: columns T, V, and X

- Subcategories (if applicable): columns U, W, and Y, respectively (meaning that U is the Subcategory associated with column T's Category, W is associated with V's Category, and Y is associated with X's Category).

- Activity: column L — if the value in this column is "active" (not case sensitive), the module should be displayed in the catalog; otherwise it should not.

Each line on the "Categories" tab is one Category. Their property mappings are:

- Title: column A

- Value Statement: column B

- Subcategories (if applicable): these are found in consecutive columns of the Category's row, starting with C. (So, if a Category has four Subcategories, they will be contained in columns C, D, E, and F. If column C is blank, then that Category has no Subcategories.)

Changes Required:

Right now, Modules seem to be listed in only the first Category with which they are associated. They should appear in all applicable Categories and Subcategories as per the spreadsheet.

There are also Categories that are missing that should be present (example: Value-Based Sellling); this may be a symptom of the above issue.

We'd also like a change to the way Search results are displayed. We would like the results displayed in three "tiers": 1. Search term contained in Title, 2. Search term contained in Description, and 3. Search term contained in Objectives. Modules will be displayed in the highest tier they qualify for (search term in Title and Description = module in tier 1). These tiers need not be visible to the user (the Modules can all be displayed in one accordion control), except that we'd like each tier's results alphabetized — so, A-Z for modules with the term in the Title, A-Z for term in Description, etc.
