Database driven website

Need a very simple database driven website where site users/buyers will be able to: 1a. browse products on offer and/or do site wide keyword search 1b. browse products by 2 or 3 parameters - eg., by interest, by price etc 2. modify or customise products to a small degree (desireable feature, not essential) 3. put products into a shopping basket 4. see cost breakdown - total costs/postage etc and/or modify the shopping basket 5. either pay for them online via a third-party system like paypal or be able to print an invoice that allows them to see the breakdown and final amount and an address where they can then post out a cheque to. 6. the site then generates automatic confirmation to the buyer and notifies the site-owner/seller. The site will initially sell around 30 products max, some of these are customisable to degree. At the hogher end the site (in maybe 2/3 years time) will sell around 100 products. These are low cost, easy purchase gifts - but are based on good design. So the site design and product display is very important. Screen design, user interface, look-and-feel will be provided. The seller will be able to: 1. display product and prices, as well as change them routinely 2. collect information from users/buyers - limited to a few details like name, email address, location, interest 3. use the data to be able to send out offers and newsletters in the future (this may be in the future). 4. be able to collect orders via the site - ie., detailed specs etc. 5. put up articles or links, as well as change or modify them Whereas there probably isnt a big pot of money upfront - there may be opportunities for the winning bidder to be involved on the site over a longer term, and recuperate costs. ## Deliverables Rent A Coder requirements notice: As originally posted, this bid request does not have complete details. Should a dispute arise and this project go into arbitration "as is", the contract's vagueness might cause it to be interpreted against you, even though you were acting in good-faith. So for your protection, if you are interested in this project, please work-out and document the requirements onsite. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform This is primarily an XHTML, php site, open to suggestions to make the website environment safe and secure (to a degree), accessible and easy-to-search. Search engine optimisation is an important criteria. Must be able to work on Explorer, Netscape, Safari, Mozilla - on both Mac and PC environments.
